The toy that conquered the world. 

My dad was in the Navy in the late 50s, and he spent a lot of time aboard an aircraft carrier cruising around the Mediterranean.  He snapped this photo at one of his ports of call.  The hula-hoop craze was in full swing. I've always thought this was a great shot, like something you might've seen in Life magazine.
